Meanwood Methodist Church
Monkbridge Road
Meanwood
Leeds
LS6 4HH
This is a large Victorian church, which opened in 1881. The previous church opened in 1811 so Meanwood recently celebrated 200 years of worship on this site. The church is built on a hill with the front access leading directly into the church, whilst the side access leads into the large premises and hall underneath.
It is situated in the middle of Meanwood at a busy road junction. Recently the church has joined the 'Churches Together in Meanwood', with the local Church of England (Trinity) and United Reformed church. Trinity and Meanwood have a longstanding arrangement of joint Remembrance Sunday services.
The average Sunday morning attendance is in the region of 30 to 40 adults, mostly
over the age of 50.
The church choir performs at the Harvest, Christmas and Easter
services.
